Disability workers in Victoria have a range of obligations.
All disability workers in Victoria must abide by the Disability Service Safeguards Code of Conduct (the Code), which provides a standard to protect people with disability from harm and abuse.
For registered disability workers, the Board has set a Guideline that all registered workers must comply with the Code. The Code is an accepted standard to be met in the practice of disability work.
For unregistered disability workers, the Act requires that they comply with the Code.
In addition to the Code of Conduct, registered disability workers have a range of rights and responsibilities that come with being registered.
