It breaks down key principles the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and is underpinned by human rights principles. The course acknowledges that a commitment to the reduction of restrictive practices and applying principles of positive behaviour support are critical to every support worker's role.
Incontinence can have a significant negative effect on a participant’s quality of life. Impacts might include body image, self-esteem and mental health. The condom catheter provides a solution to incontinence enabling a participant to feel comfortable while out in the community or at home. This course covers all the basic knowledge to assist you in performing all condom catheter application, drainage and removal tasks including: * Reasons for condom drainage * Correct application of condom catheter * How and when to remove sheath * Effective use of products involved in application and removal of the catheter
