Disability workers play a valued role helping to protect people with disability. We give thanks to all workers and service users across the community who play a part in keeping our community safe during challenging times.

With tighter coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions across Victoria, individuals, including disability workers, must wear a face covering when they leave home, no matter where they live.  This rule will help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and protect others.

There are some limited reasons where a face covering is not required. Some of the reasons include children (people aged under 12), a person has a relevant medical condition, such as breathing difficulties, physical or other conditions, a person is deaf or hard of hearing, and the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication purposes.

We understand these are uncertain times for everyone.  Staying up to date with the latest advice on COVID-19 is important.

For specific advice on the mandatory use of face masks visit the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services website.

The Victorian Disability Worker Commission regulates the conduct of all Victorian disability workers.  All disability workers have an obligation to comply with the Disability Service Safeguards Code of Conduct.  When a complaint is raised or safety risk is reported, the Commission will take action to respond to issues or concerns.
