The Victorian Disability Worker Commission welcomes the appointment of Kate Maddern as Acting Victorian Disability Worker Commissioner.
Kate currently holds the position of Director of Scheme Performance at the Commission and has been a key leader of the Commission’s work since its commencement. From 2019, Kate led the establishment of the Commission and Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria. She is passionate about the important role of the Commission and Board in providing safeguards and quality disability services for Victorian people with disability.
Kate has significant regulatory experience and achievement at an executive level across various Victorian regulators and policy areas. She has a deep understanding of contemporary regulatory and legislative frameworks and is a member of the National Regulators Community of Practice. Kate holds a Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Kate commenced as Acting Victorian Disability Worker Commissioner on 10 November 2025 for 3 months.
